Analysis of Education Satisfaction in Small Schools Using the CIPP Model

Abstract

As the population in Korea decreases, the schools become smaller and are closing down. However, small schools need to be maintained to function consistently in the local area. This study aims to investigate the educational satisfaction of stakeholders by studying the small schools known to have been successfully operating. Education satisfaction of stakeholders of the small schools, such as the teachers, the students, and the parents, was investigated by using the CIPP (context, input, process, and product) model. The same questionnaire questions for their curricular and extra-curricular programs were used with open-ended questions. Although the groups did not show statistically significant differences in the extra-curricular programs, significant differences were found for the curricular programs, which suggests a need to expand the autonomy in the operation of programs in small schools in the future.
